Course Description:

The course is planned for one day. The goal is to provide participants reasons why incident investigation is important, discuss the different aspects of an investigation, and practicing techniques for determining the root cause of incidents. The course will include class discussions and exercises, with small group breakout sessions for case studies and other activities.

Participants will:

  • Define Common Terms Used in Incident Investigations.
  • Explain the Need to Investigate Incidents.
  • Discuss the Tools Necessary to Properly Complete Investigations.
  • Four Techniques for Conducting an Investigation
  • Understand the MIOSHA Injury and Illness Reporting Requirements.
  • Explain the Benefits of Incident Investigations
