MRS helps customer find job she's passionate about
August 14, 2025
Tanya has always had a passion for taking care of people. This passion primarily stems from providing care for her mother, which was her inspiration to enroll in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. Tanya attended the Benton Harbor offsite CNA program which is accredited and offered by Michigan Career and Technical Institute (MCTI) in collaboration with our partners.
Tanya successfully managed to take classes during the day and work her job during the evening. She admits that studying during the night often consumed her, but she knows the sacrifice was worth it. There were times when she felt discouraged, but her “why” kept her going. Tanya states, “the driving force behind my success is to empower others who need a helping hand.”
Tanya faced her own medical concerns during training which required multiple doctor visits and treatment; however, she was determined to succeed and did not allow anything to get in her way.
“Through this class, I’ve discovered the transformative power of force and determination, unlocking a profound realization: dedicating oneself to a goal can yield remarkable achievement.”
After 12 weeks of training, Tanya passed her certification exam on the first try and officially began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Today she works as a CNA at Royalton Manor where she brings her calm energy and compassion to every patient she serves. Tanya prides herself on not just helping patients physically but providing dignity.
“Achieving my goal has been transformative for me because it was a turning point where I demanded more from myself. Taking the CNA class has been the catalyst for that growth.”
Tanya’s journey is proof that it is never too late to change your life – and that healing others can be the start of healing yourself. Tanya’s story reminds us that it’s never too late to start over, and that the path to purpose often begins with a single bold step.
