About the RFP
For the purposes of this RFP, continuation of the M3 initiative, refers to ongoing programming originally established through the U.S. Navy Maritime Industrial Base investment in maritime manufacturing training capacity. The initial M3 investment provided $15.4 million in training and equipment to Macomb Community College and has yielded high completion and placement rates. Funding under this RFP will allow Michigan to continue the M3 Initiative and further develop a skilled workforce for in-demand maritime welding, maritime machining, and maritime construction. Applicants must demonstrate direct involvement in prior phases of the M3 initiative to ensure continuity of training, facilities and program outcomes.
