About the RFP
Purpose
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Education and Training, (LEO-E&T) is launching a pilot incentive grant program to support employers in addressing workforce transportation challenges. This initiative encourages employers to utilize the Reliable Rides: Connecting Workers to Jobs playbook to develop and implement actionable transportation models that improve employee retention, productivity, and access to work. The goal is to identify replicable and sustainable solutions that reduce transportation barriers and strengthen workforce participation across Michigan.

Application information
Grant proposal submission and award notification timeline
Proposals will be accepted starting Tuesday, January 6, 2026. All completed grant proposals, along with required documentation, must be submitted by email to LEO-Mi-Auto-Workforce-Hub@michigan.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 9, 2026. Grant awardees will be notified on March 16, 2026.

UPDATE: Employer Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) Required
As part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) application process, please ensure that the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) for all employers, along with their legal organization name, is included in your submission. This requirement applies even if the application is submitted by another entity partnering with the employer. Providing the employer’s FEIN is necessary to ensure compliance with all state tax obligations including, but not limited to, corporate, sales, use, withholding, personal income, and unemployment insurance taxes.
