The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

04/16/25: The HCS Ruleset has been sent to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR). JCAR has 15 session days to review the rules and to raise any objections. A session day is when both chambers of the legislature are in session. There are such sessions scheduled and, if all the sessions occur as scheduled, the 15-day period will end on May 15, 2025. Barring any objections, the rules will become final shortly thereafter.
10/23/24: The HCS 2024 Rules Update Process is underway. Please see the proposed Draft Rules 2024-22LE. There will be a Public Hearing on December 5, 2024, at the Workers' Disability Compensation Agency office in Okemos, MI. Please see the Notice of Public Hearing. The Agency has prepared a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS).
