I’m extremely proud of the way our team at the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s Office of Employment & Training found success in delivering first-rate services to support our state’s jobseekers, workers and businesses in 2025.

Working directly and through collaborative efforts with our many partners, we provided and supported services that helped Michiganders obtain and retain employment that results in a good job with good pay. We also supported Michigan’s employers to ensure they had access to the pipeline of skilled talent needed to thrive in an ever-changing global economy.

Through our efforts to develop innovative workforce solutions that create brighter futures for Michiganders, including those with disabilities, we’ve found great success. In 2025, we continued to lead the nation in credential attainment for adults using workforce development services, and we provided employment services to more participants than any other state in the Midwest. Michigan also continued to rank #1 in the nation for helping vocational rehabilitation customers maintain employment, with those customers having the highest median earnings in the nation. In fact, we closed out the year ranking #4 in the nation for workforce development. You’ll find more information about our work and 2025 successes in this report. 

You may have noticed that, for the first time, we’re making this year’s report available as a web-based publication. We think you’ll find the information more convenient to access and easier to share.

The accomplishments spotlighted here are just a small sample of the work being done to promote a demand-driven workforce, provide worker training, support career-based education, focus on job preparedness, and connect people to employment services.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our hard-working team members, colleagues and partners, we’ll continue to implement innovative approaches to deliver new opportunities for Michiganders.
