Outstanding National Service Program - The Pathways to Employment AmeriCorps VISTA Program

administered by the Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), promotes and strengthens community-building initiatives focused on education and economic opportunity. The 32 AmeriCorps VISTA members serve with nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education throughout the state. They build the capacity of these organizations to develop Michigan’s workforce through college access and employability initiatives. The program’s VISTA members were able to provide 775 people with workshops and training related to financial literacy and assisted people with improving their money-management skills. VISTA members also support organizations to implement career awareness and employability skills into their curriculum.
