July 18th, 2025

3 pm – 6 pm

Mitchell Cat Creek Farms hosted a winter pasture walk in January and is now offering a summer follow up where producers can return and see how the forage has responded. The farm has an extensive water system in place to provide water access to cattle anywhere they need to in all temperatures. There will also be farmer-led discussion from producers Jordan and Brandi Mitchell regarding management of pastures and the use of outwintering cattle as a regenerative practice. The farm uses winter impact from outwintering to build soil health and apply fertility naturally. We will also be looking at soil health, doing shovel tests, looking for dung beetles, and talking about adaptive grazing management.
