Michigan's school accountability systems use statewide student assessment scores and other quality metrics to provide transparency on school performance for all Michigan public schools. School accountability systems help parents, communities, and policymakers measure school quality to make decisions and target resources to help students achieve. Michigan has multiple accountability systems for its public schools, each providing important information for different purposes and to different audiences. New to school accountability or need a refresher? Would you like to learn more about navigating, interpreting, and using school accountability reports and data? The Michigan Department of Education Office of Educational Assessment and Accountability (OEAA) Accountability Team is holding FREE, in-person and virtual interactive learning sessions. These 1/2 day workshops will include informational and interactive data sessions on Michigan's federally approved school accountability system—the Michigan School Index. Informational sessions will provide a detailed overview of the School Index and go over foundational accountability concepts. Interactive sessions will explore report navigation and the applied interpretation/use of school accountability data to answer school improvement questions.

MI School Data is the State of Michigan's official public portal for education data, offering multiple levels and views presented in graphs, charts, trend lines, and downloadable spreadsheets to support meaningful evaluation and decision making.
