MCSC employee receives national award
Jeanine Yard, senior AmeriCorps program officer with the Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC), has received a national award for her work.
Yard was presented an Outstanding Commission Staff Award by America’s Service Commission (ASC), which represents state service commissions nationwide. She received the award during ASC’s 2014 Leadership & Innovation Awards ceremony.
Yard has been with the MCSC for more than 13 years and has worked with nonprofits and national service for more than three decades.
Her passion is developing models and methods for program replication and sustainability, fostering the professional development of AmeriCorps members and program staff and building partnerships to create lasting community impact.
The MCSC utilizes service as a strategy to address the state's most pressing issues and empowers volunteers to strengthen communities. The MCSC uses Michigan's AmeriCorps, Mentor Michigan, Volunteer Michigan and the Governor's Service Awards to achieve that.
