The Community Center project was conceived in 2021 while FHD was still leasing the Rademacher property. It has evolved in scale and purpose since that time. FHD purchased the property in 2022 and knew that the site and building would require substantial improvements and additions in the immediate future. The concept of a Community Center was born from early planning discussions that emphasized creating larger rooms that could accommodate everything from public health clinic functions such as COVID-19 testing and vaccine fairs, to larger classroom functions for ESL and other growing services. Also since the sleeping quarters will undoubtedly remain at the high density of 4 persons / room due to demand; increased flow and accessibility to common areas will be a relief to residents.
