SER Metro Detroit
SER Metro-Detroit (SER)
SER Metro-Detroit (SER) was established in 1971 as a small community non-profit agency to address the employment and economic inequities of the Detroit Hispanic community. Over the past 52 years, SER has evolved into a multi-service organization assisting thousands of disadvantaged Detroiters across the City and region in achieving their career and academic goals through a number of job placement, education, and vocational training and support programs.
SER Metro-Detroit has received a $2,000,000 Michigan LEO Community Center grant to conduct critical capital improvements of the Samaritan Center. The Samaritan Center serves more than 90,000 Detroit residents annually as a community hub, hosting more than 80 partner agencies offering an array of health, socio-economic, financial and support services to Detroit individuals and families. This joint venture is managed by Holy Cross Services, a Michigan-based 501(c)(3) public health agency, and SER Metro-Detroit, a non-profit community-based organization providing numerous education, training and employment programs, and economic development opportunities for Detroit residents. This funding will ensure that the Samaritan Center continues to offer an efficient and welcoming environment for both residents and partner agencies through critical energy savings and safety improvements, ensuring that thousands of residents have access to services imperative to their financial independence and well-being.
