The Edge Urban Fellowship
The Edge Urban Fellowship
The Edge Urban Fellowship, a staple in the Roosevelt Park Community on the southwest side of Grand Rapids, operates out of a 110 year old church building in need of urgent repairs. The historic church was built for the English-speaking youth and young adults of the Dutch immigrant community at the time.
Today the EDGE serves at least 50 children, 300 teens, and 35 young adults every year through literacy intervention, urban arts programming, business coaching, sports activities, and urban residencies. In the midst of a national literacy crisis, elementary students advance 2 grade levels yearly on average in our programs. Young people in marginalized communities connect to their purpose and develop practical skills to pursue meaningful careers. These grant funds will cover necessary building repairs so that the Edge Urban Fellowship can continue to impact youth and young adults through life-changing skills development.
