Ehlers Announces New Role on National Service Caucus
"As Michigan and the U.S. continues to face economic issues and mounting social needs, service will play a critical role in solving some of our most serious problems," said Paula Kaiser Van Dam, Executive Director, Michigan Community Service Commission. "This is such a pivotal time for national service. It is exciting to have Congressman Ehlers championing national service as a leader of the Caucus."
The National Service Congressional Caucus is a bipartisan group of legislators dedicated to raising awareness of national service and expanding service opportunities for all Americans. Congressman Ehlers will co-chair the Caucus with Rep. David Price of North Carolina, Rep. Todd Platts of Pennsylvania, and Rep. Doris Matsui of California.
Others on hand to support Congressman Ehlers in his new role during this exciting time in service history was Cheryl Bremer, acting CEO of the Greater Grand Rapids American Red Cross, and Tony Campbell, Vice President-Community Investment, West Michigan United Way and Michigan Community Service Commission board member.
