Course Description:
This course will review the MIOSHA regulations found in Part 2, Masonry Wall Bracing and is designed to teach the training requirements for working in the restricted zones, identification of the proper external bracing, minimum standards for bracing and securing unsupported masonry walls until final stability is achieved, and requirements for a competent person.
This course will satisfy the training requirements under Part 2, Masonry Wall Bracing R408.40205(3) for employees working in the restricted zone.
Agenda:
- Identify definitions, employer responsibilities and training requirements.
- Illustrate restricted zones and examples of signage requirements.
- Analyze wind speed and what constitutes a competent person.
- Describe initial and intermediate period requirements.
- Describe wall bracing design, illustrate a triangle wall bracing system; assess bracing through inspection.
