Centers for Independent Living

Disability Network/Michigan represents the collective voice of Michigan’s 15 Centers for Independent Living (CILs).

Michigan Statewide Independent Living Council (MISILC) is an organization of individuals who represent the interests of people with disabilities across Michigan. Council members are appointed by the Governor, and a majority must be people with disabilities.

STEMM-Up is a new training program helping jobseekers find careers and companies find qualified candidates in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or medicine (STEMM). For jobseekers, STEMM-Up can provide free training for your next career step. And for businesses, STEMM-Up can help connect you with new candidates.

Bureau of Services for Blind Persons - Providing training and other services that empower people who are blind or have low vision to achieve their individual goals.

Michigan Career and Technical Institute - An educational center for adults with disabilities offering career assessment and exploration and 12 trade training options.

CSAVR, the NET, & TAP - Learn more about the national services and resources coordinated by the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) and designed to aid individuals and businesses, including the National Employment Team (NET) and Talent Acquisition Portal (TAP).

Pursuant to section 238 of PA 166 of 2022, the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity posts this notice that it has adopted a hybrid policy that includes in-person, remote, and alternative work arrangements. The department or agency has the authority to assign and schedule its employees and determine their work location. This policy also provides for work options contingent upon the operational needs of the department or agency. Approval is at the discretion of the department or agency and can be changed or rescinded based upon operational needs. The policy includes which positions may qualify for a work option, how to request one and the requirements necessary for approval.
