LANSING, Mich. -- Members from the State Land Bank Authority attended the installation of a modular home in Romulus on Thursday. The single-family home took less than four hours to assemble and Land Bank members were able to tour the newly-completed home.
"Thursday's home installation was a wonderful experience and a great example of how the state, city and local contractors and developers can work together to bring unproductive, vacant property back to productive use," said State Land Bank Authority Interim Director Jeff Huntington. "Placing this home on a former State Land Bank property is a win for everyone involved in this project."
The houses were built by Champion Homes and installed by InnovaLab Development Group.
"Modular housing is a great alternative to traditional stick-built houses and projects like this provide more affordable housing options for Michiganders," said InnovaLab President David Allen. "We're thrilled to work on projects like this that provide affordable housing opportunities to residents statewide."
Apex Custom Builders work on installing the third of four boxes.
