Amber Matulis

Dairy, Feed and Produce Division Director

Amber Matulis serves as Division Director for the Dairy, Feed, and Produce Division within the Bureau of Food Safety and Animal Health. In her role, Amber oversees the Dairy Section, Feed Section and Produce Safety Unit, who ensure a safe and wholesome feed and food supply. Amber is passionate about supporting and elevating her staff to deliver exceptional service to protect public health using the “educate before and while we regulate” model.

Since 2012, Amber has served MDARD in four different roles including Division Director, Produce Safety Unit Manager, Emerging Issues Specialist, and Dairy Safety Inspector. Throughout her time with MDARD, Amber participated in development of Standards 1 and 10 of Produce Regulatory Program Standards, managed the Produce Safety Cooperative Agreement Program for Michigan, oversaw the Food Safety Education Fund grant program, presented at national conferences for both dairy and produce, and coordinated Food Safety Alliance Meetings.

Amber holds a Master of Public Health Degree from Michigan State University and Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from Hope College.
