Food and Agriculture Business Development Division Director
Heather Throne is the Food and Agriculture Business Development Division Director for the Agriculture Development Bureau at Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Heather has worked at MDARD since 2002, most recently as the Grants, Commodity and Statistical Service Program Manager. She oversaw a large portfolio of state and federally funded grants encouraging economic development across the state. She also represented the department with 15-legislatively established commodity check-off groups.
Heather grew up on a small farm in Shiawassee County and was actively involved in 4-H and FFA. She received her bachelor of science in Agriculture and Natural Resource Communications from Michigan State University.
