Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education
Rule 21.
Within 10 school days of receipt of a written request for an initial evaluation of a student suspected of having a disability, and before any formal evaluation designed to determine eligibility for special education programs and services, the public agency shall provide the parent with written notice consistent with 34 CFR § 300.503 and, when necessary shall request written consent to evaluate.
