MARSE R 340.1754 Early childhood special education programs; 2 years 6 months through 5 years of age
Rule 54.
- Early childhood special education programs for students with disabilities may be provided to students with disabilities who are 2 years 6 months through 5 years of age.
- Early childhood special education programs for students with disabilities shall do all of the following:
- Be provided by an approved or endorsed early childhood special education teacher.
- Be based upon the student’s individual needs as determined through an age appropriate developmental assessment and specified in an individualized education program.
- Be based on the approved state board of education early childhood standards.
- Have a parent participation and education component.
- Be available for a minimum of 360 clock hours and 144 days of instruction.
- Have not more than 12 students for 1 teacher and 1 aide at any one time, and the teacher shall have responsibility for the educational programming for not more than 24 different students.
