MARSE R 340.1701c Definitions; R to Y.

Rule 1c. As used in these rules:

1. "Related services" means services defined at 34 CFR §300.34 and ancillary services as defined in 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1 et seq., which is available for public review at the department and at intermediate school districts.
2. "Services" means instructional or related services as defined in these rules.
3. "Special education" means specially designed instruction, at no cost to the parents, to meet the unique educational needs of the student with a disability and to develop the student's maximum potential. Special education includes instructional services defined in R 340.1701b(a) and related services.
4. "Youth placed in a juvenile detention facility" means a student who is placed by the court in a detention facility for juvenile delinquents and who is not attending a regular school program due to court order.
