  • 2020 Michigan's AmeriCorps Member Celebration

    More than 600 Michigan's AmeriCorps State, VISTA, and National members came together virtually on November 19, 2020 for a day of training, networking, and recognition. The event, hosted by the Michigan Community Service Commission, helped prepare AmeriCorps members for their year of service and celebrated the courage of their commitment.

  • Funding For New and Recompeting Michigan's AmeriCorps Programs

    Federal funds will be available in the fall of 2021 to support new and recompeting Michigan's AmeriCorps programs to start in the fall of 2022 for a 12-month program cycle.

  • Michigan's AmeriCorps Alum Spotlight

    JUNE 2021: Cheyenne Buelterman-Fernandez has made service to others a core value in her life. She joined the Peace Corps and served in Peru building partnerships with communities to design and implement projects for at-risk teens that focused on healthy lifestyles, preparation for the world of work, and leadership development. She later went on to serve two terms with the Cherry Health AmeriCorps program. There she became a Certified Application Counselor to help people access affordable healthcare coverage, provided Spanish/English medical interpretation services at Burton Health Center located within Burton Elementary/Middle School, and coached Girls on the RunHeart and Sole, and Total Trek Quest running program participants.
