Funding Available for MLK Day Volunteer Projects
To honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. the Michigan Community Service Commission is offering funding for volunteer projects that address community needs across the state.
The Michigan Community Service Commission will award grants ranging from $100 to $1,000. The projects will engage thousands of Michigan volunteers. The Michigan Community Service Commission believes that volunteer involvement is key to overcoming and building thriving communities.
“Volunteering is a great way to lift all of our spirits, while also carrying forward the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” said Ginna Holmes, executive director of the Michigan Community Service Commission. "We are looking forward to partnering with organizations across the state and seeing the impact they make in strengthening communities."
Complete grant applications should be received by Dec. 16, 2022. Based on funding availability, a more competitive second round may be offered with a deadline of Jan.6, 2023. Projects should be held between Jan. 7 and Jan. 23, 2023.
