New Web Site and Logo Unveiled by MCSC
Lansing, Michigan, June 26, 2002 — The Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) today introduced its new web site and logo. The new web site (www.michigan.gov/mcsc) is part of the State of Michigan's effort to make a variety of state governmental information, including volunteer opportunities, readily available to all Michigan residents. The new logo replaces the MCSC's previous logo, used since its inception in 1991.
“This will benefit the entire volunteer community in Michigan.” “The MCSC’s new web site makes it much easier for individuals to learn how to volunteer and for organizations to find funding opportunities,” said Kyle Caldwell, MCSC Executive Director.
We want our image to say that.” “The new logo was chosen because every citizen who volunteers is a ‘star’ to be recognized, supported, and celebrated. “Michigan has one of the most active volunteer communities in the nation,” said Caldwell. Caldwell explains that Michigan is fortunate to have so many people whose generous nature leads them to volunteer. It brings a new, celebratory look to the commission’s name. The MCSC’s new logo focuses on the organization’s mission—enabling citizens to serve.
A division of the Michigan Department of Career Development, the MCSC grants nearly $7.5 million in federal funds and $1 million in state funds to local communities each year for a variety of volunteer-focused initiatives. The MCSC is a state agency that supports and increases the capacity of Michigan's volunteer community through grants to nonprofit organizations.
