Downtime Period

  • When is the Downtime period?

The Downtime Period will start at 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 2, and extend through Sunday, November 8. MiUI will be available to all users at 8:00 a.m. Monday, November 9.

Users are encouraged to complete any required activities prior to the start of the Downtime Period as MiWAM and MiUI will be unavailable to all users.

  • What services will be unavailable during the Downtime Period?

All UIA online services, offices, phone lines, MiUI, MiWAM, MARVIN, online chat, and document uploads will be unavailable while the system update is made.

  • What should workers, employers, and third-party administrators (TPAs) do during the Downtime Period?

Employers can continue to use the Employer Help Center and chatbot at Michigan.gov/UIA. Unemployed workers can use the chatbot at Michigan.gov/UIA for general questions. They can also schedule future appointments and access the Claimant Roadmap and Handbook for Unemployed Workers. Workers are encouraged to complete their certification early before UIA services are unavailable.

  • When do I certify for benefits?

The final MiWAM certification window is Monday, November 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Anyone can certify on that day, regardless of assigned day and time. Those who certify by 4:30 p.m. should not experience a delay in receiving benefits.

The next chance to certify is after MiUI goes live on November 9. Those receiving benefits will be able to go back and certify for any past weeks, including the week MiWAM was unavailable during the transition to MiUI.

  • When will systems be back online?

MiUI will be back online at 8:00 a.m. Monday, November 9. MiWAM and MARVIN will be permanently shut down at 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 2.
