Skills in Sync RFP
Request for Proposals — Skills in Sync: Strengthening K-12 and Manufacturing Partnerships Regional Partnership Pilots
About the RFP
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Office of Employment & Training (LEO-E&T) and Community & Worker Economic Transition Office (LEO-TO) are launching a Skills in Sync pilot program to field-test successful partnerships between K-12 and manufacturing. LEO-E&T has up to $150,000 available to fund up to three (3) regional partnership networks across the state with grants that support K-12 partnership, engagement, and planning with employers in their local manufacturing ecosystem. Each grant will act as seed funding to offset startup costs associated with coordinating and managing regional partnerships. The intent of the grant is to expand manufacturing partnerships beyond existing 11th and 12th grade Career and Technical Education (CTE) or advisory board requirements and build deeper engagement aligned with the Michigan Career Development Model. Throughout the grant, LEO-E&T and LEO-TO will document best practices, challenges, and lessons learned. These learnings will directly inform the forthcoming Skills in Sync partnership playbook.
