Lienholder change
- All owners listed on the title must go to the Secretary of State office.
- If an owner cannot appear, they can complete an Appointment of Agent form and provide a photocopy of their driver’s license.
You will need:
- The vehicle title
- The vehicle registration
- Your corrected driver’s license or an official document verifying your name change
- $15 title correction fee
- Additional fees apply for debit or credit card payments.
- If only removing a lien, only one owner is required to appear at the Secretary of State office. If removing a lien and changing anything else, all owners listed on the title must go to the Secretary of State office.
- If an owner cannot appear, they can complete an Appointment of Agent form and provide a photocopy of their driver’s license.

- Driver’s license or ID for all owners.
- Lien termination statement from the lienholder listed on the title or the lienholder must sign-off on title.
