Bureau of Elections staff to be temporarily relocated due to asbestos remediation and building construction

No disruption of services is expected

Beginning July 14, 2025, all customer-facing Bureau of Elections staff will be temporarily relocated within the Richard H. Austin Building while construction takes place in our suite.  During this project, all services will remain available. Please call 800-292-5973 to schedule any in-person visits to the Bureau. 

Updates will be provided as they become available, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as these improvements are made.

Michigan election law governs the ballot access procedures under which a candidate, political party, or ballot measure is presented to voters on a ballot. The Bureau of Elections provides interested parties with the forms, instructions and manuals needed to circulate petitions, or submit a filing fee to gain access to the ballot. Please review applicable information that follows and contact the Bureau of Elections, Filing and Canvassing Section if you have any questions.
