The Michigan Transparency Network (MiTN) is a cloud-based platform launched in 2024 to replace several older systems for campaign finance reporting, lobby expense reporting, personal financial disclosures, legal defense fund disclosures and casino financial interest reports. MiTN combines multiple systems from the MERTS platform into one centralized web tool. The Michigan Bureau of Elections will continually work to improve, update, and quality check the MiTN system to enable users streamlined reporting, enhanced access to information, simplified filing, and easy access to guidance and support from our team. This page will be updated regularly to keep users informed on the status and progress of system improvements.
The vision for the future of MiTN is to have the system serve as an easy-to-use, living and evolving entity, receiving regular updates and improvements from us, because of helpful feedback from users like you. Those using MiTN for disclosure reporting must do so through MiLogin. MiLogin connects you to all State of Michigan services through one single and secure user ID. To begin filing you will need to either log in to MiLogin or create an account. You can do both of those at MiLogin.

Yes. Since your contacts are stored in your computer and the MiTN system is web-based, you may upload your contacts into MiTN. You can find information on importing contacts at MiTN contact and transaction importing instructions.
All users of the system will be required to utilize a MiLogin password. MiLogin is a single user ID that connects users to all State of Michigan services. You may already have a MiLogin ID for renewing your driver's license, viewing your state tax return status, or applying for health benefits. Lobbyists who employ lobbyist agents and businesses who provide campaign finance filing services who have employees may need to utilize a MiLogin for Business.
