Program overview

MCTI's Information Technology Program is a recognized CompTIA Authorized Academy and Cisco Networking Academy. It includes a well-equipped computer lab that provides a realistic setting for up-to-date, hands-on training. Students spend approximately 30 hours a week maintaining and repairing office management systems, computers, laptops, mobile devices, copiers, printers, and other office equipment. Depending on interest and ability, students may pass up to 10 internationally recognized certifications for the IT industry.

  • Cable Installer
  • Computer/Printer/Copier Peripheral Servicing and Repair Technician
  • Network Support Technician

Depending on skills, abilities and interests, students can participate up to six terms.

Job opportunities increase after completion of training. Starting pay may range from the current minimum wage to a higher amount depending on the location of the job.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, able to effectively convey and receive messages in person as well as via phone, email, and social media
  • Above average learning ability, including mechanical reasoning and verbal/math skills
  • Average spatial/form perception
  • Demonstrate ability to logically solve problems with abstract and concrete variables, and be computer literate
  • Ability to make good judgments, multi-task and perform precision work

Students who most closely match the U.S. Department of Labor occupational profile for a Computer/Office Machine Technician are accepted for enrollment.
