MiUI Minute: Issue 20

  3. MiUI University
  4. MiUI Resources for Employers and TPAs
  5. MiUI Minute Newsletter

February 13, 2026

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is transitioning to a new tax and benefits system called MiUI, which will replace the current Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM). MiUI Is being launched in two parts, with the first Tax release planned for February 23, 2026, and the second Benefits release coming summer 2026.

In this issue of the MiUI Minute specifically for third-party administrators (TPAs), there are links to resources TPAs can provide to their employers, as well as information about TPA IDs in MiUI.

TPAs: Share Information about MiUI with Employers

With the MiUI launch scheduled for February 23, 2026, we hope TPAs have had a chance to reach out to their employers regarding MiUI. If not, we want to make sure TPAs are fully equipped with the necessary resources to support themselves and their employers. Based on what TPAs have shared in our TPA Seminars on MiUI, we’ve added several resources on MiUI University to help support outreach. We’ve added a sample email and a flyer that you can share with your employer partners.

Communications Resources for TPAs

Click the button above, then scroll down the page to find Communication Resources for TPAs. Select Instructions for templates listed below for a step-by-step guide on using the email template to reach out to your employer(s).

Don’t forget to peruse all of the TPA-related resources on the Trainings and Resources page at MiUI University.

TPA IDs in MiUI

What is a TPA ID?

The TPA ID is your unique, 8-digit system identification number in MiUI. The TPA ID will be a brand-new number in MiUI, which means TPAs will need to manage two TPA IDs during the Two System Transition Period.

During the period of time between MiUI Go Live for Tax (February 23, 2026) and Go Live for Benefits (summer 2026), TPAs will have this new TPA ID for MiUI, and their existing TPA ID to use in MiWAM, which is active for benefits functions.

How will I get my new TPA ID?

TPAs with an existing MiWAM account will be assigned a new MiUI TPA ID at Go Live.

Where will I find my TPA ID in MiUI?

Starting February 23, 2026, TPAs can log into MiUI and see their TPA ID on their MiUI Home Screen (see example screenshot below):

A screenshot of MiUI highlighting the TPA ID in the top right corner of the screen.

Will employers need to know my TPA ID?

TPAs must share their TPA ID with employers in order to associate with them in MiUI. MiUI is an employer-driven system, which means that employers will add TPAs to their account using the TPA ID the TPA provides to them.

For more information on TPA assignment and association in MiUI, refer to the TPA Assignment & Association quick reference guide or the MiUI Toolkit section for “Add a Third-Party Administrator” page 58.

Where to Find More Information

Thank you for your continued support as we transition to MiUI. We look forward to collaborating with you throughout the launch to make this transition a success.

Employers and TPAs can can find more information and resources about UIA’s new computer system implementation at MiUI University. For a quick guide on the most important things you need to do to prepare for Go Live, refer to the Countdown to MiUI—Must-Do Items. For detailed steps on how to complete tasks in MiUI, refer to the MiUI Toolkit.

Did you know that UIA offers MiUI Employer and TPA Seminars? These sessions provide an overview of key system changes, live demonstrations, guidance to help their organizations prepare for the transition, and opportunities to ask questions. If you would like to attend a seminar please sign up here to select a seminar time.

If you need assistance:

  • Employers and TPAs will need a MiLogin account to access MiUI. For MiLogin general questions, visit the MiLogin Help Page.
  • For MiUI and adding MiUI as a service in MiLogin technical questions, email UIA-MiUIEmployerSupport@Michigan.gov.
  • For MiWAM technical questions, email MiWAMSupport@Michigan.gov.
  • For all other general unemployment questions, call the Office of Employer Ombudsman at 1-855-484-2636, Option 4.

We're here to help every step of the way!
