Secretary of State office in Holland to close for remodeling Jan. 22-25
The Ottawa County PLUS Secretary of State office will close for a few days later this month for a remodeling project, and customers are encouraged to complete their transactions online at ExpressSOS.com or at an alternative branch office.
The office at 587 E. Eighth St. in Holland will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 21, and will remain closed until it resumes normal service at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28.
Customers and staff will benefit from renovations including new data lines to speed transactions, new carpet and a newly painted lobby. Electrical updates also will be done as part of the project.
The ExpressSOS website allows customers to renew their tabs and driver’s licenses, get a duplicate registration or title, change their address and register to be an organ donor. Customers can renew their driver’s licenses and tabs for their vehicles, motorcycles or boats, print their receipt and drive legally until they get their card or sticker in the mail. On their eighth year, customers do need to visit an office to get a new driver’s license so they can pass a vision test and get an updated photo.
Residents who need Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may visit the next closest offices:
- Hudsonville, 5211 Cherry Ave.
- Grand Haven, 1110 Robbins Road
- Allegan, 430 Western Ave.
All three of those offices are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
