"State lawmakers continue legislating on lies instead of telling their constituents the truth - the 2020 election was the most secure election in Michigan history. The bills passed today will do nothing to bolster the extremely strong voter ID laws Michigan already has, and the politicians pushing the bills through are fine with that, because their real goal is reducing voter turnout. By suggesting voters include a photocopy of their ID with their absentee ballot request form, lawmakers are exposing voters to identity theft. And prohibiting the use of a signed and sworn affidavit to confirm a voter's identity will only increase the number of votes that never get counted."

This is the final weekend for most Michigan voters to cast a ballot in person at an early voting site for the Aug. 4 Primary Election.
With one week left until Primary Election Day, Aug. 4, a total of 832,435 Michigan voters have already cast their ballot – a turnout rate of 11.3% of all active registered voters in the state.
The Secretary of State office at 1007 N. Euclid Ave. in Bay City will be closed for two weeks because of a remodeling project, but residents can go online instead for most of their transactions.
Starting tomorrow, Michigan voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for the August Primary Election in person at their early voting site. The statewide early voting period begins Saturday, July 25 and ends on Sunday, Aug. 2.
