Secretary of State office in Jackson to close for remodeling until Feb. 13
February 03, 2023
JACKSON – The Secretary of State office in Jackson will be closed next week for a remodeling project, but most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead for their transactions.
The office at 1184 Jackson Crossing will not open Monday, Feb. 6, and will resume normal service at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13.
Carpet will be replaced throughout the office.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet or mobile phone.
The self-service station in the vestibule of the Jackson office will remain available 24/7 for renewals of registrations, driver's licenses and IDs. Another station is located in the Meijer at 2777 Airport Road in Jackson.
Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may schedule their visit at the next closest offices at Michigan.gov/SOS or by calling 888-767-6424. The nearest offices are located at 308 S. Superior St. in Albion and 1113 M-52 in Chelsea. Both offices are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
