Belle Isle Park - Southeast Michigan 5k Freedom Walk and Human Trafficking Resource Fair
Join the Sparrow Freedom Project in walking for freedom from human trafficking and exploitation. Come learn about this crime and take the opportunity to see what resources are available to the Metro Detroit community.
The objective of the Human Trafficking Resource Fair is to promote awareness around the myriad of services available in the Metro Detroit area, for those who have survived human trafficking and exploitation. By bringing the community together, we will be able to assess our strengths and weaknesses and determine where there may be gaps in service. There is also an opportunity for service providers to network and build relationships with the goal of facilitating education and advocacy.
The purpose of the 5k Freedom Walk is to raise funds to support Sparrow Freedom Project's mission and help shed light on the reality of human trafficking in our region and beyond. During the event, walkers and attendees will have access to life saving information about human trafficking, including the myths and realities of this dark underworld. You can register for the walk at the following link: register here.
The walk will begin at the Cricket Field on Belle Isle.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
