Lapeer Shooting Range (Lapeer Pit)
Effective in January 2025, all Department of Natural Resources-staffed shooting ranges (Dansville, Lapeer, Ortonville, Pontiac Lake, Rose Lake and Sharonville):
- Will operate on the same daily hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Will be closed the first Thursday of each month, except October and November.
- Will be closed for State of Michigan holidays on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.

The range is open seasonally:
- May through Sept. 30: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.* Closed Sunday through Wednesday.
- Oct. 1 through mid-December Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.* Closed Sunday through Wednesday.
- Mid-December through April: closed for the season.
No fees at this time.
Offerings
- Three handgun stations at 10 yards.
- Five stations at 25 yards.
- Three stations at 100 yards.
Note: Bring your own paper targets depicting a bullseye pattern or legal game. No human-form silhouettes or metal targets. No aerial target shooting.

- Accessible concrete parking and paths to shooting structures.
- Accessible portable toilet.
- Accessible shooting stations – three at 10 yards, five at 25 yards and three at 100 yards.
