Salmon in the Classroom
Salmon in the Classroom
The Michigan DNR Salmon in the Classroom program helps hundreds of third through 12th grade classrooms across the state to raise, learn from and release young Chinook salmon in approved waterways. Tens of thousands of students learn to appreciate these great natural resources each year.
SIC provides countless opportunities for students to connect with Michigan's natural resources. Teachers are equipped with professional development, a classroom activity guide, a program manual and video playlists to support the program in their classrooms.
Prospective teachers can find out more about the program and how to apply below. Current teachers can find resources, program materials, videos and more in their section.
