Dansville Shooting Range

The DNR-staffed Dansville Shooting Range offers a safe shooting environment for you and your friends and family, with customer-friendly, highly trained employees and amenities like a handgun range.

You will notice continued improvements to our ranges. These renovations are funded by grants through the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Mid-April through mid-December: Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Last shot at 4:45 p.m.
Mid-December through mid-April: closed for the season

No fees at this time.


  • Four stations at 100 yards.
  • Three stations at 50 yards.
  • Three stations at 25 yards.
  • Two stations at 10 yards.

Note: Paper targets with a bull's-eye pattern or a depiction of legal game may be used. No human-form silhouettes or metal targets. No buckshot allowed; 50-caliber BMG and larger centerfire rifles and muzzleloaders larger than .80 caliber are prohibited. 


Accessible features include:

  • Two van-accessible parking spaces.
  • Accessible pathways.
  • Accessible shooting stations – four at 100 yards, three at 50 yards, three at 25 yards, two at 10 yards.
  • Accessible vault toilet building.


The range is available for youth groups and hunter education programs. Please contact the range at 517-676-0698 for information and scheduling.
