Need a Smoke Alarm?

Important Update: Due to the absence of a Fiscal Year 2027 appropriation, the Bureau of Fire Services is unable to distribute smoke alarms through MI Prevention. All smoke alarms purchased in FY26 have been allocated to our MI Prevention partners across the State of Michigan.

We encourage you to contact your local fire department to determine whether they offer smoke alarms and installation services through alternative means.

MI Prevention maintains a limited supply of disability smoke alarms. If your local fire department is unable to provide a disability smoke alarm, please complete the Michigander Alarm Request Form.
