Michigan Office Of Administrative Hearings And Rules:  Benefits Services Division

The Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) Benefit Services Division (BSD) holds administrative hearings when decisions made by a variety of Michigan departments related to public health and safety, human services, and state employee benefits are contested. In particular MOAHR-BSD provides hearings related to Medicaid program eligibility, services and providers, food assistance, cash assistance, and state medical disability. MOAHR-BSD also provides hearings for Adoption Subsidy Services, Expunction from the Michigan Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry, Licensing of Child and Adult Facilities, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, the Department of Civil Rights, and the Office of Retirement Services. MOAHR-BSD receives over 60,000 hearing requests per year regarding numerous Department programs.
