Manufactured Housing Commission
The Manufactured Housing Commission was created by 1987 PA 96.
The commission meets quarterly and has the legal authority to approve local governmental ordinances which would regulate manufactured housing, grant variances to the Mobile Home Commission Rules, approve licenses for mobile home retailers, and impose penalties on persons who have violated The Mobile Home Commission Act or Rules. Residential Builders' and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors' Board
The Residential Builders' and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors' Board was created under Article 24 of 1980 PA 299, as amended, to license and regulate persons engaged in the construction of a residential structure or combination residential and commercial structure, or persons who undertake the repair, alteration, addition, subtraction or improvement of a residential structure or combination residential and commercial structure for compensation other than wages for personal labor. State Fire Safety Board
The State Fire Safety Board (SFSB) has six (6) professional member terms expiring on 7/15/2020. Those positions are as follows in the order we would like to promote the positions.

Below is some information that could be shared with the public about the positions:
- Overview: The State Fire Safety Board is a 17 member board that assists in development of fire safety rules covering the construction, operation and maintenance of schools, health care facilities, penal facilities, state owned and leased facilities; operation and maintenance for public assembly and other buildings; oversight of delegation of fire inspection responsibilities; and serving as an administrative hearing body on decisions made by the Bureau of Fire Services. It's mission is to protect life and property from fire, smoke, hazardous materials and fire related panic in specific types of public facilities in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Services and other fire organizations within the state.
- Required: Appointed members must be a Michigan resident.
- Term: Appointed members serve a 4-year term.
- Meetings: The State Fire Safety Board is scheduled to meet 6 times per year (required to meet not fewer than 4).
- Expectations: Board members are expected to attend meetings whenever possible. The continued absence of a board member appointed by the governor from regular or special meetings of the board makes the member subject to immediate removal.
Board of Boiler Rules
The Board of Boiler Rules was created by 2016 PA 407.
The responsibilities of the board are to prescribe uniform rules for boilers; provide for the licensing of boiler inspectors, installers, repairers and registration of boiler operators and stationary engineers; set fees for licenses, registrations, permits, inspections, and certificates; and to provide penalties for violation of the act. State Plumbing Board
The State Plumbing Board was created by 2016 PA 407.
The duties of the board include making recommendations for plumbing code rules; recommendations to the Construction Code Commission for approval or denial of new products; licensing plumbers; and making all orders, rules, and regulations necessary for the enforcement of the provisions of the act. Barrier Free Design Board
The Barrier Free Design Board was created by 1974 PA 190, amending 1966 PA 1.
The board may receive, review, process, grant, or deny requests for exceptions to the barrier free design specifications; require alternatives when exceptions are granted; receive, process, review, and act on complaints of noncompliance, and make recommendations for barrier free design rules. State Boundary Commission
The State Boundary Commission is responsible for administering the State Boundary Commission Act, 1968 PA 191 and portions of the Home Rule City Act, 1909 PA 279 and the Home Rules Village Act, 1909 PA 278. The Commission is comprised of three members appointed by the Governor, and two members appointed by the chief probate judge of the county in which the land being considered in a petition is located.
The Commission serves as a quasi-judicial body adjudicating many types of municipal boundary adjustments and recommends, to the Director of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the approval or denial of petitions for incorporations of new Home Rule Cities, new Home Rule Villages, and municipal consolidations.
The Commission also recommends approval or denial of certain types of petitions involving land currently under township jurisdiction that is proposed to be annexed into a Home Rule City. See MCL 123.1002.

Utility Consumer Participation Board
The Utility Consumer Participation Board was created by Act 304, P.A. of 1982, (Section 460.6l of the Michigan Compiled Laws). The five-member Board provides grants to qualified applicants that represent the interests of Michigan's residential energy (gas, electric, and other fuel) utility customers at residential energy proceedings before the Michigan Public Service Commission. Funding is generated through annual assessments of certain regulated utility companies.
