Permitted Nurse Aide and Medication Aide Trainers and Training Programs

The Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS) issues permits and regulates Nurse Aide Trainers (NAT), Medication Aide Trainers (MAT), Nurse Aide Training Programs (NATP) and Medication Aide Training Programs (MATP). 
  • The legal authority for NAT and NATP permits is derived from the state statute and administrative rule, specifically the Michigan Public Health Code, Part 219, sections 333.21901-333.21925. It is also covered in the Federal Code of Regulations, specifically part 483.151, 483.152 and 483.154.
  • The legal authority for MAT and MATP permits is derived from the Michigan Public Health Code, Part 219, sections 333.21901-333.21925 and the Medication Aide Administrative Rules (Coming Soon).
