Elevator Safety Board

 The Elevator Safety Board was created by 1967 PA 227. Among its major responsibilities are promulgation of rules, preparation of examinations, and issuance of elevator contractor licenses. Ten of the board members are appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, to serve 4-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member may continue to serve until a successor is appointed. The eleventh board member is the director of the Department.

Requests to appear before the Elevator Safety Board (including completed documentation and applicable fee) must be submitted at least 35 days prior to the meeting date. Meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change.

All meetings will be held at 611 W. Ottawa Street, Lansing, MI 48933.

The meeting site and parking are accessible.
