Code Books
With the Bureau's coordinated sale of the Michigan Construction Codes with the International Code Council (ICC), customers are able to purchase code books directly from ICC at the Michigan member prices indicated below.
Additionally, both ICC and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) offer free online access to their codes.
- ICC - International and Michigan Code access at https://codes.iccsafe.org/public/collections/I-Codes.
- NFPA - Codes and Standards access by following the instructions below.
- To view the codes online, go to https://www.nfpa.org.
- Login to your account. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one.
- Once logged in, click "CODES AND STANDARDS."
- Below "CODES & STANDARDS," click List of NFPA codes & standards.
- Click on the NFPA Code you wish to view.
- Under View this Document, click Free Access.
Purchasing code books from the International Code Council (ICC)
Beginning July 1, 2011, tax will be charged to all customers who have not submitted the proper paperwork indicating you are tax exempt. If your organization is exempt from paying sales tax, please send a signed, dated copy of your current certificate made out to the International Code Council.
