The Mechanical Unit is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Michigan Mechanical Code and the mechanical provisions of the Michigan Residential Code by conducting inspections of mechanical equipment and installations. This unit also follows up on violations of the Michigan Mechanical Code and assures proper mechanical permits have been issued.

Note: Freon questions are not handled through this agency. Please contact the Stratospheric Ozone Hotline at 800-296-1996.
