In order to consider an application complete and to avoid delays of processing, the following documents must be uploaded as part of the application:
- Submit a “Mortuary Science License Relicensure Application” in MiCLEAR.
- If license mortuary science license is lapsed between 91 days and less than 3 years, provide documentation of completion of 4 hours of continuing education.
- If mortuary science license is lapsed for more than 3 years, you must pass the State of Michigan Jurisprudence examination. Once relicensure application is submitted and reviewed, if all other requirements have been met, you will receive an email authorizing you to take the State Jurisprudence examination.

If the mortuary science license is lapsed for more than 3 years, you must pass the State Jurisprudence examination. Once the application and all other requirements have been met and reviewed to be found complete, applicant will receive an email authorizing them to take the State Jurisprudence Examination and how to schedule the examination.
