The Duncan Lake Intercounty Drain Draina Board will meet on the above date, time and location to receive construction bids for the Duncan Lake Intercounty Drain. Bids will then be opened and publicly announced.
The Duncan Lake Intercounty Drain will be let in three section(s) as follows, each section having the length, average depth and width as set forth:
The Duncan Lake Intercounty Drain consists of approximately 6.6 miles of open channel drain, with a varying depth from 3- to 10-feet. The following items will be required, and a contract let for the same: Bid items are shown below:

This Notice of Letting, the plans, specifications and bid proposal shall be considered a part of the Contract. The Contract will be let in accordance with the Contract Documents now on file at Land and Resource Engineering, 2121 3 Mile Rd NW, Walker, MI, 49544 and available to interested parties. Bids will be made and received in accordance with these documents. Bidding Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained at the following locations: by contacting Andrew Stoffel of Land and Resource Engineering at stoffel@LREMI.com
Hard Copies of Bidding Documents may only be obtained upon payment of a $40 non-refundable deposit. An additional non-refundable charge of $75 will be required for mailing Bidding Documents. Bidding Documents, including plans and specifications, are available electronically, free of charge, upon request by contacting Andrew Stoffel via the email above.
A security deposit in the form of a cashier’s check, money order, certified check or bidders bond made out to the Duncan Lake Intercounty Drain Drainage District shall be submitted with any bids. No cash will be permitted. The security deposits of all unsuccessful bidders shall be returned after the Contract is awarded.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday June 18, 2026, at Kent County Drain Commissioners Office, 775 Ball Ave., NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Representatives of the Owner and Professional will be present to discuss the project. Attendance by any prospective General Contractor is required for sealed bids to be accepted. The Professional will transmit to all prospective bidders of record an Addendum as the Professional considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be legally effective. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder giving adequate security for the performance of the work and meeting all conditions represented in the Instructions to Bidders. The Contract completion date and the terms of payment will be announced at the time and place of letting. If no satisfactory bids are received, we reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to adjourn to a time and location as we shall announce.
