Secretary of State Mobile Office to visit Detroit Boat Show

Visitors can learn more about services, ask questions

Detroit Boat Show visitors can learn more about watercraft registration and other services, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson announced today.

“Following the successful North American International Auto Show, the Secretary of State Mobile Office is returning to Cobo Center to assist you,” Benson said. “This time, our focus is on the upcoming watercraft season, but as always, you are encouraged to stop by with questions about any of our services.”

The Mobile Office will be open Feb. 16 to 24 at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd. Visitors should note that because of the department-wide Presidents Day weekend upgrade to the Customer and Automotive Records System (CARS) computer platform, the Mobile Office will be unable to perform transactions until 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. However, staff will be able to provide information and answer questions during the first three days of the boat show.

The Secretary of State’s Office mails out watercraft registration renewal notices in March.

The Mobile Office will be open during the show’s public days. Office hours are as follows:

  • Saturday, Feb. 16 – noon to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 17 – noon to 6 p.m.
  • Monday, Feb. 18 – noon to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 19 – 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 20 – 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 21 – 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 22 – 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 23 – noon to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 24 – noon to 6 p.m.

The show includes more than 100 watercraft dealers and marine businesses.
