Department of State suspends license of Holland used vehicle dealership

HOLLAND – The Department of State has suspended the license of a Holland used vehicle dealership for potential odometer tampering and odometer fraud.

CQ Auto Sales, LLC., 167 120th Ave. #B, owned by Catherine Quizena Sanchez, was served with a summary suspension March 4, after multiple consumer complaints and follow-up inspections revealed the dealership is suspected of falsifying odometer records and tampering with vehicle odometers. During the investigations, regulation agents discovered:

  • Odometers with the miles rolled back
  • Vehicles with odometers that had been tampered with or replaced
  • Paperwork indicating that customers hadn’t been informed of the alleged discrepancies in odometer mileage or that odometers had been replaced
  • Inconsistencies with mileage statements recorded in vehicle title and registration applications

The suspension remains in effect until Sanchez meets with the department for a preliminary conference. Sanchez also may request an administrative hearing to contest the suspension. Additional administrative actions also are possible.

Consumers who have a complaint against CQ Auto Sales in Holland are encouraged to call the Office of Investigative Services automotive complaint line at 517-335-1410.
